Why I want to meet Trauma_Junkie

I’ve learnt a lot reading her entries on 43T. She’s funny, kind, intelligent and well-travelled. It’s nice to read about somebody who’s actually doing something positive that really matters with their life.

Why I want to meet Steve Jobs

I want to convince him to stop using Objective-C on the mac platform and go back to using Smalltalk.

Why Steve should do this:
  • It’s part of the personal computing heritage that he stole borrowed from Xerox in the 70’s.
  • It’s better than objective-c (and besides computers are fast enough to handle it today.)
  • He likes to ship stuff that’s far ahead of the technical mainstream.
  • The mainstream commercial programming languages are underpowered compared to what’s available. He could use this to get smarter developers interested in the mac.

Why I admire winstonwolfe

he is so much more than he realizes
he has a good heart
*he is willing to face his fears & create the life that he wants for himself

Even though I have never actually met “winstonwolfe”, I consider him to be my friend.

xoxox!

Why I admire Aimee

Aimee is a talented dating coach! She’s helped me turn around my ideas on dating. For the first time in my life I’ve had a date!

It might not sound like a lot, but it is!

Thanks again!

A story about Aimee

Aimee has given me some very useful advice. Thanks Aimee!

Why I admire bookish

Lots of reasons:
  • She’s kind and friendly. (The story about a young Hindu girl deciding to hold christmas in her family home so her younger brother and sister didn’t miss out proves the point.)
  • She’s intelligent.
  • She’s cute (big brown eyes, long, dark hair and an amazing smile)
  • She’s got a nice, friendly american accent (with a subtle hint of Indian in there.)

Just don’t ask her what tribe she’s from ;-)

A story about Ricardo Semler

He fired half the management at his father’s company and the introduced “industrial democracy”. He eliminated what he calls “corporate oppression”: the kind of petty, oneupmanship and nasty mistrust-creating policies that abound in the corporate world. He deserves to make a ton of money just for the difference that makes in people’s lives.
